Best Bicycle Tours in Napa Valley
My sister, who live in Napa, takes me on her own Napa Vally bike tours when I visit. So I can vouch for how wonderful Napa Valley is for cycling at any level.
We stopped by the river where the kids played on a rope swing. When we were much younger, we pinched a few tart grapes off the vines (shhhh) along the side of the road and had our own little tasting.
With Napa’s well-paved country back roads that wind around scenic vineyards, riding bicycles is one of my favorite local activities, and one I highly recommend if you find yourself in Napa Valley.

You can rent bicycles and find your own way with bike route maps provided by the local bike shops. Or you can book a guided Napa Valley bike tour. If you’re new to the area, a guided bicycle tour is a good option.
With guided bicycle tours, the focus is on enjoying the beauty of wine country rather than hardcore cycling, so don’t worry if you’re not fit for the Tour de France.
2 Terrific Napa Valley Guided Bike Tours
The following Napa Valley bicycle tours provide relaxing rides through wine country with plenty of fresh air, food and, of course, wine. The first one is my favorite because it takes you inside the vineyard. The second one is a classic Of all the beautiful cycling tours in the Bay Area, these Wine Country tours are among the most popular.
1. Cycling “IN” the Vineyards Bicycle Tour
{Booking details} We saved $5 via this link. This Carneros District tour includes a catered picnic lunch served alfresco overlooking the vineyards.
This is the only Napa Valley winery that allows off-road biking through its vineyard, which borders the north side of the San Francisco Bay. The marshlands found here are a federally designated wildlife preserve.
2. Classic Napa Valley Bike Tour
{Booking details} This casual-paced bike ride stops at several wineries along the way, depending on whether you opt for the half-day or full-day tour. All riding is on paved roads that are flat to gently rolling. The rental bikes are newish Specialized Sirrus hybrids.
They’ll provide a helmet, handlebar bag, souvenir water bottle, snack and van support (including wine purchase pick-up service). Wine tasting fees are extra (but may be waived with minimum purchase).
