SF Ballet Tips and Ticket Deals
When is the last time you went out to see a classical dance performance in the City? My favorite time to go is around the Winter holidays, but the ballet lifts my spirits any time of year.
If you’re one of those people who likes ballet, you’ll be happy to know the San Francisco Ballet Company presents more than 100 performances ever year from December through May, at the beautiful War Memorial Opera House.
The award-winning San Francisco Ballet was the first professional ballet company in the United States, and the company maintains an impressive repertoire of both classical and contemporary.
SAVVY TIP: Find SF Ballet’s Nutcracker ticket deals (during the holiday season).
What I enjoy most about SF Ballet performances — besides the great digs, and the ever popular Nutcracker (there’s has a unique San Francisco set) — is the surprise of their modern choreography. Still, when Don Quixote comes around again, I’m getting my tickets early. More of a Nutcracker fan? I suggest you do the same. I’ll keep an eye out for SF Ballet Nutcracker discount tickets, which I’ll post below.
SAN FRANCISCO BALLET DISCOUNT TICKETS
San Francisco Ballet discounts are very rare for this world-renowned Bay Area ballet company, but when they’re available I post them here.
For unsold tickets on the day of the performance, SF Ballet will offer the following discount tickets directly at the box office. Only two discount tickets per ID. Some performances sell out in advance, especially Sunday matinees and full-length ballets like Swan Lake. And no discounts will be available for any Nutcracker performances.
SF Ballet Student Discount
From February to May, full-time students can sometimes get tickets for the same day’s performance for $10-20, when available.
SF Ballet Military Discount
From February to May, military personnel can often get tickets at the box office (until one hour before the performance) for the same day’s performance for only $30, subject to availability, with a 2 ticket maximum.
SF Ballet Senior Discount
From February to May, seniors (65 and older) can often get tickets for the same day’s performance at the box office (until one hour before the performance) for only $30, subject to availability, with a 2 ticket maximum.
